In this classically styled gameshow, it isn't zany personalities that attract the audience’s attention, but the gameplay itself!

Each episode introduces us to new contestants who compete in multiple point rounds. There will be a bank of challenges to draw from beyond the amount played within each episode, allowing for variety across episodes.

Challenges take place on simple Mini-Sets spaced out on a Main Set, including:

  • Living Room (carpeted floor, couch and/or chair, bookcase)

  • Kitchen (fridge, double sink, dishwasher, countertop)

  • Bedroom (bed, shelving unit, dresser)

  • Laundry Room (washer, dryer, baskets)

All Challenges Are Timed. Contestants (2) compete one at a time until the final round.

Round 1 features one of the following:

  • Vac Art - Living Room

Each contestant stands in front of a canvas of debris-covered floor. They must use their vacuums -utilizing as many or as few attachments as they choose- to recreate the same randomized design within time allotted. Once time is up, points are awarded out of 40 based on accuracy of recreation, use of tools and neatness.

  • Dyson Designer - Living Room In this challenge, contestants remove large objects from floor before vacuuming, attempting to recreate a predetermined design (such as diagonal lines; spiral, etc.) on the floor via vacuum movement. Points are awarded for accuracy; subtracted for any large objects missed.

Round 2 features one of the following:

  • Shelf Arter - Living Room Contestants must reorganize books on shelf according to assigned order e.g. by colour; by size; by author’s name etc. Once they signal they’re complete (or time runs out), a check is performed. Points are awarded for each book that is in the correct position by end.

  • Label Looker - Kitchen Contestants must read the labels on a set number of (empty/fake) boxes of food, sorting out specific ones e.g. peanut free; made in Canada; MSG etc. Points are awarded for number of boxes correctly sorted.

  • Squeeze, Please! - Kitchen Must pack segmented lunch box with 1 protein, 1 fruit, 1 veg, 1 treat etc. (fake/play food) taken from labeled sections in fridge. Contestants must decide which to pair with what to pack box snugly so lid will remain shut after tossing box into one of a set of backpacks hanging on a wall.

Round 3 features one of the following:

  • DishStasher - Kitchen A heap of dishes, glasses and coloured utensils sit in one side of the double sink (the other side left open for strategic purposes). Contestants must load dishwasher, placing utensils in the colour coded compartments and fitting as many dishes and glasses possible while still being able to close the door -don’t forget the soap pack!  Points are awarded for amount of dishes fit, and subtracted for utensils in wrong compartment, dishes dropped and forgotten soap. Cupboard Cram/Refridgerator Refill - Kitchen Contestants start with either a cupboard full of Tupperware, or a fridge full of (fake) food. They must remove all items and then replace them either exactly as starting position, or in new configuration according to diagram. Points awarded for accuracy, subtracted for forgotten items.

Time left over from previous rounds banked for

Final Round comprised of one of the following:

  • Laundryathlon! - Bedroom + Laundry Room Contestants begin by removing sheets/cover/pillowcase from the bed, placing them in a laundry basket and carrying them over to the Laundry Room to place in the washing machine. Next they must remove clothes from a dryer, placing into a second laundry basket to take back to the Bedroom. Dried clothes must be put away in top dresser drawer with the aim to fit in as many as possible while still being able to close the drawer. Contestants decide if they think they can fit more by shoving clothes in or by folding them. Finally, they must locate the correct sized sheets etc. for the bed from three clean, folded stacks on the shelf, and remake the bed. Finished bed does not need to meet army standards but otherwise be properly made! Points are awarded for number of clothes fit in drawer, and subtracted for dropped clothes, untucked/wrong sized sheets, and failing to us the correct laundry basket for designated task.

  • Dyson Derby! - Full Set converted to Obstacle Course

Each contestant must navigate an identical course with their corded vacuums. Points will be deducted for objects knocked over, furniture shifted, and if a player runs over their cord, that’s it!

Whichever contestant has the most points by the end is the Homemaker Master, winning the grand prize of an all expense paid family trip!
